Drills are charged, loaded and ready to go, but we have no crew! Everyone is still sick.

Harvey and Ryan tapped a little bit yesterday and are headed to the woods this morning to tap some more.

It froze last night and at 8:00 this morning it is 40 degrees! Looks like we might miss our first run.

Although we have beautiful sunshine this morning, the weather forecast is predicting 100% rain today. Tapping in the rain is not fun!

No tapping yesterday or today. The crew that we usually use are very sick...3 family members all sick.

Ryan & Harvey went up in the woods in the afternoon to work on the lines and dig them out of the snow.

I snowshoed up in the woods in the afternoon with my dog pack...it was gorgeous! The snowshoe path measures to the top of my knees. You feel like you are walking in a trough.  The woods are so silent because of all the snow. You only hear birds and woodpeckers. It is so peaceful.

The dogs love it...so many new smells.

We had sunshine yesterday for the first time in about 4 or 5 days.

Watch Percy slide down the hill on his belly...he loves it!

Harvey & Ozzy (Wing Man) plowing the driveway this morning.
We received at least a foot of snow, possibly more, last night and it is still snowing hard.

No tapping today...just digging out!

Ozzy jumping the dog yard fence!

Ozzy in the 2nd picture from the bottom...he thinks he's a chickadee.

Tess got off the snowshoe trail...you can see just her head!

If you click on the picture, it will enlarge.

We are suppose to get a huge snowstorm today...3-5" today and 9-13" tonight!

Perfect timing for trudging through the woods.

Our road to our sugarhouse.  Our 4 dogs enjoying a winter's day walk.
Tubing waiting for tapping day.
This is a picture of our tubing. Soon the sap will flow through this tubing into a main line that will carry it directly to our sugarhouse.
The woods this time of year are gorgeous!
Our bulk syrup will be packed in these 33 gallon drums.
The sugarhouse is buried in snow today. Not much action yet.

These are pictures of our sugarhouse. Our sugarhouse faces Jay Peak.
This is a picture of Burnt Mountain. This side of the mountain is our sugarbush. It is very steep which makes it excellent for pipeline.

It's sugaring time in Vermont!

My husband, Harvey and I own and operate this small scale sugarbush. We have 4,200 taps, all pipeline. We will begin tapping this upcoming week. Follow along with us on our blog to watch how our season progresses.
